Bande Dessinee au Cambodge/ Comics of Cambodia

Exposition opening Friday October 22, 6:30 pm; French Cultural Centre.
Featuring artists Uth Roeun, Hul Sophon, Em Satya, Or Yuthea, Im Sokha,
Soeung Makara, Heang Kanol, Nhek Sokhaleap, Vit Tharin, Sen Samandara, Hong Bora and many more. See their classic stories of romance, legends, humor as well as 'nonprofit comics' and new, unpublished stories! Also included is a display of art from students at Battambang's Phare Art School, and samples from foreign artists who have worked in Cambodia.
The Exhibition will be open from October 22 to November 6.
Rencontre in French and Khmer Saturday October 23, 10:00am at the French Cultural Centre. Hear what comics scholars and professionals think about the state of the art!
Introduction by Professor Alain Daniel. Children's Workshop and display of Kamishibai/Emaki by teachers from Phare Art school at CCF's library, in Khmer and French, on October 28th. 8:30 to 11.30 am. It's all a part of the French Cultural Centre's Liren Fete, which will see publishers, authors and artists exhibit their works on November 4, 5 and 6. For more information:
