Most incredible! I just finished reading Mike Deodato's Jade Warriors #1 - Slave of the Dragon that I purchased at Comics & Comix on the K Street Mall - Sacramento. I had to mention this store, because they carry all the Indies! What Has Gone on Before is perfect. Anything, I failed to remember from the previous series is all brought back to light. Any new reader is able to fall into the story easily.

The thought of how dragons once ruled the Earth before the asteroid strike is amazing. What's even more amazing is that I can find the Yakuzi and an assortment of ninjas in this story. Also, another helpful guide is your introduction to the characters that is found right in the back of the cover.

I must give Mike Deodato a standing ovation for his mega-marvelous artwork! Every panel was drawn with such incredible beauty. I was absolutely astonished with the artwork. Now as I get into the story with a starting point of Tokyo, Japan, I was mesmerized by the ninjas who attacked the head dragon. The transformation from man to dragon was done with perfection too.

The new Jade Warriors really made short work for the ninjas. The slaughter was horrific. The reader can't help but feel for Angel Sorayama, as she goes through her quiet pain. This lady has been through a lot. Seeing the Jade Warriors along with writer Bob Campbell in the birthing chamber caused a few hard gulps. The thought of a dragon coming out with tooth and claw from the womb of a Jade Warrior left little to desire of this birthing chamber.

Ahhh, I remember Ramthar, and seeing Ramthar in this issue was a real treat! Ramthar is a destructive force and he definitely caused havoc in this one issue. Ramthar held his own pretty good with the new Jade Warriors and it was interesting on how Ramthar survived the death kiss.

Just when I thought everything might be okay, then the suspenseful cliffhanger as Angel's life is on the line. Powerful story that worked my imagination up to an all-time frenzy! Also, I thought everything was over with, until the next issue and I get another added treat. A Ramthar stand-alone story in which he is at a base that is working on enhanced humans. This is quite strange and I definitely want to know more!
