Batman: Long Halloween #12

Posted: Wednesday, September 17

Print This Item

Writer: Jeph Loeb
Artist: Tim Sale
Publisher: DC

A flawless treat can be found in Joeph Loeb's and Tim Sale's Long Halloween. What should sag a recap instead becomes a tense lead-in to the revelation of Holiday's identity, and here, Mr. Loeb takes advantage of a twisted rule about comic book corpses. Don't feel too bad if you, as your reviewer eating humble pie with the monstrous Solomon Grundy, deduced incorrectly.

Apart from the mystery, readers will also relish a means in which
a madman breaks bread with a "mindless" beast. Mr. Sale's
cinematography strengthens the emotions between two starring
characters and adds macabre ambiance to a supporting suspect
while draining strength from a worrying wife--making her that more
fragile and ever more a mere a memory in Harvey Dent's tortured
mind.
