"Aaar!" Thar be gold in this week's Scooby-Doo.
"Aaaar!" Writer Robbie Busch, artist Scott Neeley and Heroic Age turn toward a storm cast by Long Gone Slivers in "Kickin' Pirate Booty." The characters have a little more salt to them than usual, and aye, but Daphne bedecked in a purple glittering gown is a fetching addition to any crew. The Gang pieces together the clues and finds their formula for mystery set adrift in favor of a clever twist.
"Aaaar!" After wetting your whistle with that fine grog, swing about for Scott Cunningham's "Creature from Rainbow Waterpark." Tis an obvious solution, and the Gang say it themselves, but Freddie can buckle the swash with the best of them and Matchette's art makes the Gang clearly friendly mates.
"Aaaar!" When you've docked, take some shore leave with Frank Strom's and Vincent DePorter's "A Rebel Steal." Plunder's the name of the game in a mall, but the Gang be too smart for these fright masked finks. Once their earthly origins are uncovered, they even stir a fire in the commonly cowardly Shaggy.
"Aaaar!" Finally broaden your mind with John Rozum's two-page treatise on the Kraken. A horrid beastie that one, and rendered accurately by Neeley.
"Aaaar, me hardy!" Board this week's good ship Scooby-Doo for a pair sea chanties involving pirate ghosts and a monster from the deep, then moor your time to a land-lubbing tale about the mall haunting privateers. "Aaaar."
