Comments:
This story arc is a big improvement over “In Stinked”, but unfortunately has nothing to do with events in the last issue. We’ll have to see what happens to that new character in upcoming story arcs. Now that we are in the second half of the series, I believe that we can start seeing things coming together. Graves is getting his Minutemen (new and old) together for his final war against the trust, and it looks like Shepard is going to be his next target. Unlike the “In Stinked” and “Chill in the Grill” storylines in which there were too many characters unnecessary characters and events occurring and plot advancement took forever, events and characters here are much more important and I won’t spoil any of it. All I’ll say is that 100 Bullets fans that were disappointed with issues 43-49(especially 47-49), will be happy to see that events are starting to unfold more quickly in the coming issues than they were before.
Again, we have another nice cover by Dave Johnson, the best cover artist in the industry(we’ll ignore this week’s Captain America cover). I’m surprised that he doesn’t work on more projects. Eduardo Risso is extremely consistent in the high quality of his work. Johnson and Risso are the ultimate, most perfect match for a series like this.
Final Word:
Azzarello is no longer distracted with Batman, so now this book is monthly again. This is probably one of the few jumping on points this series will ever have for new readers. Get in fast!
