For those of you who still enjoy getting into a complex continuity with tons of characters, Spider-Girl is for you. And not only that, it's extremely well written, and doesn't pretend to be something more than it really is.
This issue offers a ton of action, mainly with Spider-Girl and the Buzz taking on Dr. Jade, an affiliate of Dr. Octopus. There's also the millions of subplots which could use some footnotes, but as we all know, that's old-fashioned. One novelty of this book I enjoy is how it's told in the second person, which is something I don't see very often. Tom DeFalco has kept the interior style the same throughout, leaving us always expecting the same, smooth-moving, character-driven title.
Ron Frenz and Sal Buscema are still at it after all these years, with Frenz' art taking a very angular approach. While it's certainly better than most things out there, it leaves some characters looking disfigured at times, and I hope Pat Olliffe's return to the book will be more than just a fill-in.
It won't change the way you look at the comics' medium, but the fact that it's a consistent, uniform effort makes it a comic we need more of. Keep it coming, Tom.
