”Lionheart of Avalon, Part One of Five”
by Chuck Austen, Olivier Coipel and Andy Lanning

"It seems like a routine mission when Captain America and Earth's Mightiest Heroes head to Great Britain to deal with the Wrecking Crew's latest scheme. But when things get out of hand, it takes the bravery of an innocent bystander using Cap's indestructible shield to save them all. These events lead to the resurrection of a forgotten Marvel hero and the introduction of a new member of the Avengers."

Rather than summarising this issue, that solicitation information tells you much of the plotline for this five-part story it seems. This time around we have Cap, Hawkeye, Wasp and She-Hulk (although she goes missing) in England (London, presumably), tracking down the Wrecking Crew with some new scanners…which don’t appear to be working properly. Cue a big fight… This plotline is inter-cut with scenes detailing the life of an abused woman bringing up her two kids on her own, she’s both mentally and physically scarred, yet is overcoming this by putting on a brave face and taking her kids (including a Captain America-admiring son) out in public…wouldn’t you know it, but these two plots collide?

I presume that next issue the kid will pick up Cap’s shield as indicated in the solicitation, and where Brian Braddock/Captain Britain fits into this…well, who knows?

The highlight? Hawkeye lecturing Cap on how to pick up women…priceless.
The lowlight? It could be any country, it doesn’t feel like England at all.
