Arthur: The Legend returns to the roots of the iconic story of Arthur, the warrior hero born to return the Island of Britain to its rightful owners. Before the Romances of Geoffrey of Monmouth, Chrétien de Troyes, Malory and Tennyson, the historical sources of Celtic Britain, the Historia Brittonum, the Annales Cambriae and the Mabinogion, reveal a mighty leader protecting the Britons (our Welsh ancestors who ruled Britain from coast to coast) from inter-tribal warfare and invading hordes in the period known as the Dark Ages, 1500 years ago.
This gripping new graphic novel takes us back to this early age, bringing alive the legendary stories, traditions, battles and adventures of Merlin, Vortigern, Taliesin and Arthur. Dalen Books is a Welsh press specialising in graphic novels and cartoon stories for all ages in Welsh and English. Arthur: The Legend is the first in a series of four volumes on the stories of Arthur and it is aimed at teenage and adult readers. This first volume contains the fascinating story of prophet and wild man of the woods Myrddin(Merlin), and Arthur’s rise to fame resisting the Saxons as the British war-leader.
