MONOLITH™ today announces the release of its first full-sized comic book publication Rapid City: B-Sides #1.

By breaking away from MONOLITH's flagship title, Rapid City: B-Sides manages to deepen the line's musical connections.

MONOLITH and its founders have been devoted for the past two years to the production of the Rapid City maxi-series, set to debut later this year. In the process of creating a large-scale comic book story set in a superhero universe, they have developed many skills, and resources, as well as a rich cast of characters and a nuanced setting. The natural result was the development of Rapid City: B-Sides.

B-Sides develops and strengthens Rapid City's strong musical influence. If the main story arc of Rapid City can be thought of as a musician's major LPs, then B-Sides is exactly that: the b-sides. Just as an album of b-sides will feature unreleased and rare tracks, covers, live recordings, collaborations, and all kinds of great songs which might not fit into a single album's overall concept, Rapid City: B-Sides features stories, characters, themes, and creators which might have never found their way in to Rapid City.

Rapid City: B-Sides #1 features the stories "Blackout" and "Games Without Frontiers". Rapid City writer Josh Dahl teams up with artist Matt Bowers for "Blackout", a story about friendship, trust, and fighting bad guys. Matt takes over the writing duties as well as the art on his own Strange Behavior story, "Games Without Frontiers".

MONOLITH is a comic book publishing company which proudly debuted Rapid City: B-Sides at this year's New York Comic Con and through the web at www.monolithllc.com.
