COMIC BOOK ICON STAN LEE TAKES AIM AT ELECTION 2008 IN NEW BOOK

When superhero creator Stan Lee releases his new book of political humor, the expression “Super Tuesday” will take on a whole new meaning!
While Stan’s name is synonymous with the famed Marvel Comics characters he co-created, such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men, he’s always had a soft spot for humor.
Stan will take on election-year politics in his gag-filled new book, Election Daze. The book will feature hilarious dialogue and captions to accompany photos by award-winning photographer, Lauren Victoria Burke.
“I’ve always gotten a kick out of combining far-out captions with serious pictures,” says Lee. “It’s a great change of pace from writing fantasy tales, although sometimes politics seems more like fantasy than my own stories.”
Election Daze is due for release in book stores like Barnes and Noble at the end of March and is now available to be pre-ordered online at amazon.com and several other sites. The book can also be ordered online at amazon.co.uk.
“The timing for the release of this book couldn’t be any better,” said publisher, Tom Filsinger. “Stan’s gags are hilarious and Election Daze will be a pop culture collectible for this historic election year.”
Stan Lee has plenty of experience as a writer of humorous gags, going all the way back to magazines he released when he was an editor and writer for Marvel Comics in the 1960’s. One of those magazines, “You Don’t Say!” featured photos of famous politicians like President Kennedy, accompanied by Stan’s witty dialogue.
Stan Lee’s Election Daze will be promoted at major events such as the New York Comic Con on April 18-20. Stan Lee will be scheduling a book signing in Washington D.C. following his appearance at the National Press Club on April 21 and he will be a special guest at BookExpo America in Los Angeles at the end of May. The specific dates and times for Stan’s appearances at these events are still to be determined.
More book signings and promotional appearances will also be announced. To follow news updates on Stan’s latest book project and an interview with Stan go to the Filsinger Publishing Web site at “http://www.filsingerpublishing.com” or to Election Daze “campaign headquarters” on MySpace at “http://www.myspace.com/electiondaze”.
The Election Daze MySpace currently features a “Create-a-Caption” contest where people can provide humorous dialogue for a photo featuring a “bug-eyed” Hillary Clinton. Given Hillary’s current headaches, the possibilities are endless. The contest winners will receive a limited edition promotional mini-book for Election Daze autographed by Stan Lee!
The hottest political humor book of the year is coming in March! Count the days; Election Daze is coming! Excelsior!
