ABC News Report on Famed NJ Cartoon School

Dover, NJ (Feb. 16, 2006) – WABC-TV Eyewitness News will broadcast a report on the world famous Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art, Inc., on Friday, Feb. 17, at 5:30-6 PM ET. The 2-minute segment conducted by Kimberly Richardson features student and teacher interviews, as well as classroom candids depicting the demanding training program for which the Kubert School is known. WABC-TV is the NYC affiliate for the ABC TV Network.
Richardson also interviews cartoonists Adam and Andy Kubert, the youngest sons of Joe Kubert who teach at the school. For the last few years Adam and Andy have been working individually for Marvel Comics Marvel.com) and DC Comics (DCComics.com).
Interest in the school was sparked by a recent AP release (Feb. 13). The story was picked up by such newspapers as the NY Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Washington Times and the NJ Star-Ledger. (Star-Ledger article).
Legendary cartoonist Joe Kubert (HAWKMAN, SGT. ROCK) founded the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art, Inc., in 1976, with his wife, Muriel. It is a fully accredited, 3-year vocational school with full-time programs in Cartoon-Graphics© and Cinematic Animation. Well-known JKS alumni include Damion Scott (BATGIRL, SPIDER-MAN), Rags Morales (BATMAN, SUPERMAN), Tom Raney (THOR, OUTSIDERS), Alex Maleev (DAREDEVIL, MARVEL KNIGHTS), and Shane Davis (WONDER WOMAN, BATMAN).
