BOLLING, TAYLOR CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF LITTLE ARCHIE AT COMIC-CON
This July, Comic-Con International will be taking a moment to celebrate two of the comic book industries most illustrious veterans: Bob Bolling and Dexter Taylor!
What's the reason? Well, none other than the 50th anniversary of Little Archie, the character that both Bolling and Taylor made a name for themselves working on. The rascally, younger versions of Archie and his pals don't seem to be a hair older than seven. But the series has become something of a fan-favorite over time.
"Whether at a con or in the mail, we get tons of requests for Little
Archie," said Victor Gorelick, Managing Editor for Archie Comic Publications. "The work Bob and Dexter did still resonates with readers, and they deserve all the accolades they get."
Little Archie, which focuses on the highly imaginative childhood adventures of everyone's favorite teens, has built a huge cult following that continues thriving to this day. While the look of the characters has changed a few times over the years, the heart of the stories told remains the same.
"Like any Archie story, Little Archie touches on things we all experience," said Richard H. Goldwater and Michael I. Silberkleit, Publishers of ACP. "Growing up, dealing with life and enjoying the company of good friends. But with Little Archie, things get a little zanier!"
The Little Archie celebration at Comic-Con marks the first time either Taylor or Bolling will visit the show, which runs from July 14-17, with a preview night on July 13.
