The We3 and former New X-Men team of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely will reunite for All-Star Superman, a 12-issue series in a new line of books that feature top creators on DC icons, according to Newsarama.com. DC’s All-Star line won’t follow current DCU continuity, but it also won’t create a new universe like Marvel’s Ultimate imprint. Instead, creators are free to tell timeless stories meant to draw in new readers.
The All-Star books kick off in June with All-Star Batman & Robin, a series illustrated by Jim Lee and an as yet, unnamed writer. All-Star Superman will follow in late 2005.
In an interview with Newsarama, Morrison said he and Quitely plan to tell a “big, bold sci-fi Superman for 12 issues” and promised there will be no fill-in artists on the series. “It's me and Frank for 12 full issues. That's the deal, the whole deal and nothing but.”
