More Comic Pros to Attend Hawthorne High Comic Convention

MORE COMIC CREATORS JOIN J. MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI AT HAWTHORNE HIGH COMIC CONVENTION TO HELP HIGH SCHOOLERS RAISE MONEY FOR ART PROGRAM

COMIC CREATORS to appear at special show at Hawthorne High School in New Jersey on May 8, 2004

Upon hearing about the high school students plans to raise funds for their art program with a benefit comic convention, comic industry creators have signed up to donate their time by appearing at this special show. Among those most recent creators agreeing to join us include: Silver Age artist on Superman and Hawkman Murphy Anderson; Ultimate Fantastic Four artist Adam Kubert; Topps and Marvel Comics editor Jim Salicrup, Batgirl artist Rick Leonardi; Outsiders artist Tom Raney; Earth/Paradise X writer Jim Krueger and last minute addition, appearing at approximately noontime for one hour Marvel Editor in Chief Joe Quesada . Additional creators are also a possibility!

They will be joining close to three dozen stars from the comic book industry.

Activities will include art lessons for the kids (panels will include lessons in layout; penciling, inking; coloring and art direction, and painting): panel discussions (including one with J. Michael Straczynski); portfolio reviews; an anime theater and charity auction, proceeds from which also benefit the Hawthorne High School art program. A listing of the times and locations of the events will be available in the program given out the day of the show.

Plus area dealers will be in attendance selling, trading, buying comics, toys, original art, anime, DVD & Videos, non-sports trading cards, video games and more!

Hawthorne High School is ideally located at 160 Parmelee Avenue in Hawthorne, NJ 07506. Just 30 minute outside Manhattan and accessible by bus and train. Direction can be found on Mapquest.

Admission is only $3.
