HEROBEAR AND THE KID: THE INHERITANCE SELLS OUT
Astonish Factory going back to press for 2nd printing
The trade paperback edition of Herobear and the kid: The Inheritance, the first collection of Mike Kunkel’s two-time Eisner Award winning comic book, has sold out its first print run of 10,000. With sales steadily increasing over the last several months – some of this increase due to its selection to the 2004 Popular Paperbacks list sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) – the original print run sold out in a little over a year’s time.
Orders continue to come in and The Astonish Factory is going back to press for a 2nd printing. Some copies remain at the distribution level so comic book stores, bookstores, and libraries should be able to continue to buy Herobear and the Kid for a short while before it will be out of stock for a brief time. The Astonish Factory expects the 2nd printing in about 8-10 weeks.
"I’m both pleased and amazed with how well Herobear has been doing," said creator Mike Kunkel. "It’s thrilling to think that the sales are a great sign that newer and newer audiences are discovering Tyler and his best friend."
The trade paperback edition of Herobear and the kid: The Inheritance ($19.95, ISBN: 0-9721259-1-4, 9" X 12", 208 pages) is sold everywhere fine books are found. And as a special treat, there are still a few hundred copies of the Special Limited Hardcover Edition available ($49.95, ISBN: 0-9721259-0-6, 9" X 12", 230 pages).
Mike Kunkel is currently working on more adventures for Herobear and the Kid, and along with everyone at The Astonish Factory encourages readers to: "Remember your childhood…and pass it on." |
