Pin-Up Contest for Mortal Coils: Bodylines trade paperback
Red Eye Press is proud to announce the release of its second trade paperback Mortal Coils: Bodylines, collecting the first four installments of the critically acclaimed Mortal Coils series as well as three all-new stories, an all-star supporting team of sketch artists and writers, script annotations, a 16-page color section, and a fully painted, wrap-around cover by J.K. Woodward. The 186-page Bodylines follows on the success of Red Eye's 2002 Valentine: Fully Loaded trade paperback and will be solicited in the April edition of Previews from Diamond Comic Distribution.
However, while more details of the May release are pending, Red Eye Press is pleased to now announce the Mortal Coils: Bodylines Pin-Up Contest, where they will be choosing the full-page art of one submitting artist to be printed in the trade paperback edition. The pin-up must focus on one or more of the pre-existing .Mortal Coils characters from either issues #1-3 or the SPX Exclusive, Mortal Coils Presents, and should be e-mailed in low-resolution (72 dpi) at full size (at least 10.25" x 6.5, portrait layout) to MCpinup@captionbox.net no later than February 28, 2004. Only B&W/Grayscale images will be accepted, and no nudity is allowed; a high-resolution (600 dpi) version of the winning selection must be made available to Red Eye Press prior to printing.
The final winner will be chosen by Mortal Coils creator and writer, A. David Lewis. Two runners-up will each receive a free edition of Mortal Coils: Bodylines signed by Lewis. New talent is especially welcome, but no one will be eliminated nor favored based on publication history or training. The three selectees will be announced March 1, 2004.
Mortal Coils: Bodylines is published by Red Eye Press in association with Caption Box studio. For any additional info or answers, contact MCpinup@captionbox.net. Back issues of Mortal Coils can be ordered through RedEyePress.net, MileHighComics.com, or via Diamond-affiliated retail shops.
