Comic veterans Keith Giffen and Cary Bates have signed an agreement with Komikwerks to re-issue their comic collaboration Video Jack as an exclusive webcomic on www.komikwerks.com.
Giffen, most known for his work on Justice League, Lobo, and Ambush Bug, and Bates, whose work includes runs on Captain Atom, Superman, and The Flash, created Video Jack for Marvel’s Epic line of comics back in 1987 as a 6-issue mini-series. It has not been recollected or reprinted since, and is widely considered a “lost gem” by Giffen and Bates fans.
“I’m glad that Video Jack can see the light of day again,” says Giffen, “and I’m glad it could be on Komikwerks. I’ve been a strong proponent and fan of Komikwerks for the last couple years, and Cary and I are happy to be a part of what they’re doing.”
Komikwerks’ founder, Patrick Coyle and Shannon Denton are equally excited. “Are you kidding? I grew up reading Keith and Cary’s books -– this is a real thrill!” says Coyle. Denton adds “To have creators of their caliber contributing and supporting what we’re building is fantastic.”
Video Jack begins weekly updates at www.komikwerks.com on Wednesday, Sept. 10th.
