DC has announced that the Joe Casey and Cully Hamner BATMAN: TENSES project will finally be released in September. TENSES is a two-issue Prestige-Format mini-series. Each issue runs 64 pages.
In an interview at Newsarama, Hamner says that the project was delayed for a number of reasons. The artist says that it took a year for him to receive his first script. In the meantime Hamner took on other work, such as The Authority Annual, Gen-Active, Weird Western Tales and the Wildstorm Summer Special. When he received the script for issue one, Hamner says that he made the mistake of trying to draw TENSES and complete his other work. He then fell behind.
BATMAN: TENSES focuses on Bruce Wayne’s first year as Batman. In the interview Casey says that it’s a time when Bruce learns how to be an adult, and how to convincingly act like one.
