Viz Communications, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of Yu Watase's Ceres, Celestial Legend Volume 7: Requiem DVD and VHS in February 2002. Part of the Viz Video line and featuring the next Three episodes in the Ceres saga, this DVD offers stereo sound, Japanese and English audio tracks and English subtitles. Each DVD in the Ceres, Celestial Legend series boasts a different DVD extra — this one features a clean version of the second ending sequence and line art. SRP for the DVD is $29.95 U.S., while the video featuring three dubbed episodes has an SRP of $24.95 (U.S.).
In this volume, with the reconstruction of the celestial robe or hagoromo nearing completion, a resolved Aya makes the decision — for the sake of herself, Ceres, and the entire Mikage family — to willingly turn herself in. Yû Watase is the author of several other manga series, including the popular Ceres, Celestial Legend, for which she was awarded the 43rd Shogakukan Manga Prize. In the decade since her debut short story, Pajama De Ojama ("An Intrusion in Pajamas"), she has produced more than 50 compiled volumes of short stories and continuing series, often combining elements of fantasy, science fiction, humor and romance.
About Ceres, Celestial Legend: Aya Mikage and her twin brother Aki thought they were two normal teenagers until one incredible day changed their destinies forever. According to fairytale legend, there lived a fisherman who found an angel's beautiful feathered robe hanging on a pine tree. This angel, Ceres, was tricked into marrying the fisherman and bearing his children, eventually forming the lucrative Mikage Clan. Although age and mortality eventually claimed Ceres, her will and vengeance have lived on in a select few of her female descendants. This time she manifests in Aya Mikage ¾ the most powerful tie yet ¾ and Ceres is ready to exact her revenge on the Mikage family.
