Video Interview: Jeffrey Tambor and the Creators of China, ILA tv interview article by: Jason Sacks
One of the most fun parts of attending Comic-con for me is in all the amazing people I get to interview. As part of Comics Bulletin's attendance at Geek Vegas, we frequently get email from publicists and other people giving us a chance to interview various different celebrities in comics, TV and other media. When the chance came through to interview Jeffrey Tambor and the creators of China, Il, I immediately replied and knew I had to take the opportunity to speak to these people. And no offense to David Weidenfeld or Brad Neely, whose show is one of the funniest and cleverest programs on TV, but come on, the person I really wanted to talk to was the man who played two of my favorite TV characters ever, George Bluth and Hank Kingsley.
I'm delighted to tell you that it was an absolute joy talking to Jeffrey Tambor. He was one of those rare celebrities who was funny, interesting, generous and open. As you'll see, he's a laugh riot and a genuine fan of the show that he was promoting. What you won't see is Tambor's generous and friendly spirit. He made a point of being genuinely interested in me and CB's outstanding videographer Chris Wunderlich, deliberately taking pains to make good eye contact and shake hands even after the interview was over and we were packing up our equipment. Yes, my frends, Jeffrey Tambor was pure class. And funny as hell, to boot.
I hope you enjoy watching this interview as much as I did conducting it.
