Who is... Michael A. Diaz?
Michael Diaz lives in Michigan, but don't hold that against him.
There he works as a Sys. Admin. while fostering dreams of one day becoming a "real" writer.
Most importantly, Michael is seriously addicted to comics, something that his wonderful wife tolerates with the patience of a saint.
He also writes this weekly column that people occasionally read.

WLG #261: Not Everything is Green!
I haven't been big on introductions as of late, but this week I've got some things to say and some questions to ask.
First, I am just LOVING Iron Man right now. Look at last week's issue: sure, there's Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, but where's the Iron Man suit? Nowhere to be found, and yet, there was still plenty of action and story. Kudos to Matt Fraction and Salvador Larroca for creating a book that is so engrossing; the only bad part is that I have to wait another month before I find out what happens next.
Now, a question: this is perhaps my own mistake, but I never ended up picking up Captain Britain & The MI:13 because for one thing it was so closely tied to "Secret Invasion" (which I really didn't care for), but also for some reason I thought that it was a limited series. Obviously at 13 issues in that isn't the case, and now I feel like I really might have missed out on something. I was a huge fan of the original Excalibur comic book, but mostly the thing that drew me to the title was Captain Britain. For some reason I have always had an affinity for the character; perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I am an Anglophile of sorts.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else was reading the book and what they thought of it; I don't know if I am going to jump into the series this far in, but I am really thinking of picking up the first trade at least, but I think I need some swaying from someone out there that has been reading the title since day one. Any and all input wouldn be appreciated.
Next item: Star Trek. True, that's a movie and this column is about comic books, but I wanted to say that I saw it and I liked it. No, I didn't love it, but that might be because I am an old Trek fan and I had some issues that had more to do with the fact that I didn't think that this is how the series had to be rebooted like this, but that's neither here nor there. I am happy to have Trek back, don't get me wrong. I just wanted to mention that for me the movie was a bit more enjoyable because I had read the comic prequel Star Trek: Countdown first. No, you don't have to read the comic to enjoy the movie, but for me it added a lot to the back story that I appreciated. If you've seen the movie or want to see the movie I highly suggest picking it up.
Also, I'm sure everyone was really worried, but I DID manage to get my hands on a copy of Blackest Night #0. You didn't think I was going to go a whole column without mentioning SOMETHING about the Green Lantern Corps, did you?

GREEN LANTERN CORPS #36 $2.99 (Peter J. Tomasi / Patrick Gleason)Yes, we all know that I love me some Green Lantern Corps; this is no surprise and has even kind of become a joke, and perhaps to some of you, an annoyance. That being the case, I'm not going to beat you over the head with this, so I am going to keep this short and sweet.
I am geeked about this because it is a prequel to "Blackest Night", but more importantly there's a prison break going on in the sciencells, whihc means lots of carnage as members of the GLC take on member of both the Sinestro Corps as well as the Red Lanterns; this is bad as the GLC is spread thin as a large contingent of the Corps is on its way to Vega with the Guardians to take on Agent Orange.
Really, it's pure fanboy lust as far as I am concerned. 'Nuff said.
STORMWATCH: PHD #21 $2.99 (Ian Edginton / Leandro Fernández)Fuji is down and almost dead but a bit of the nanite blood from the Engineer has sealed his "wound", but how does a Doctor treat a sentient gaseous entity?
Now, I don't have any more insight that anyone else, but I just don't think that they'll kill off Fuji so quickly after bringing him, and the rest of the StormWatch team back to life during the "soft reboot" of the WildStorm Universe. Also, there he is on the cover of this month's issue, so that might be a hint as well.
Meanwhile, the rest of the team is on the ground trying to find a lost member of an earlier excursion. The thing is, it appears that it might be a trap. For fans of Wetworks (the team and the comic), it looks like there's going to be some Night Tribe fun showing up in this book.
I don't know how the sales are on this book, but a long time fan of the StormWatch Universe I am loving everything that is going on right now.
