Who's who in the Comics Bulletin Universe - Update 2009

Who is... Michael A. Diaz?

Michael Diaz lives in Michigan, but don't hold that against him.

There he works as a Sys. Admin. while fostering dreams of one day becoming a "real" writer.

Most importantly, Michael is seriously addicted to comics, something that his wonderful wife tolerates with the patience of a saint.

He also writes this weekly column that people occasionally read.

"[O]ne of the most positive and entertaining columns going."
- Gail Simone (Birds of Prey, Villains United)

Hello all!

I'm pressed for time this week, but I didn't want to leave you all hanging. On top of that, I was fighting with just a touch of writer's block. I considered just posting my picks and allowing for discussion on the message boards, but I've been there done that. Frankly, you deserve more.

It's now secret that I am enjoying the entire WildStorm line very much right now, so much so that I am really starting to sound like a broken record as I go on and on about how I love the books. I was trying to come up with something new to say when a haiku came to mind. It was fun, and the next thing I knew I had written haikus for all of the books this week.

Don't worry, this isn't something I plan on doing often, but it was a fun, different, and fast way to get this week's column out; so, without further delay, here's What Looks Good...

DC

STORMWATCH: PHD #16 $2.99 (Ian Edginton / Leandro Fernandez)

The world has ended
An old ally comes to help
Cold War weapon in-bound?

IMAGE

DYNAMO 5 #18 $3.50 (Jay Faerber / Mahmud Asrar)

New team meets defeat
Second thoughts from the first team
Is help on the way?

MARVEL

IRON MAN: DIRECTOR OF SHIELD #35 $2.99 (Christos Gage / Sean Chen)

War Machine inflicts
mass carnage; Gage does no wrong
Chen's battles perfect.

UNCANNY X-MEN #504 $2.99 (Matt Fraction / Terry Dodson)

Colossus mourns Pryde
Her sacrifice troubles him
Their love never lasts

So, how much did you hate the haikus? Or, better yet, what comics are you just frothing at the mouth for? Just stop by the WLG message boards (see link below) and share your thoughts!

See you next week!

Until then, peace!

-Diaz
