Who's who in the Comics Bulletin Universe - Update 2008

Who is... Michael A. Diaz?

Michael Diaz lives in Michigan, but don't hold that against him.

There he works as a Sys. Admin. while fostering dreams of one day becoming a "real" writer.

Most importantly, Michael is seriously addicted to comics, something that his wonderful wife tolerates with the patience of a saint.

He also writes this weekly column that people occasionally read.

"[O]ne of the most positive and entertaining columns going."
- Gail Simone (Birds of Prey, Villains United)

I'm sure this comes as no surprise to anyone that regularly checks out this column, those few of you that remain. I think I've made it pretty clear over the last few months that my day job has taken up more and more of my life. That's a good thing in many ways, but some things have to suffer, like this column. Of course, professional success has benefits. For example, I just bought my FIRST house.

So, now between work and preparing the new house for the big move this weekend I've found that my free time as of late has become non-existent. As such, I have not had time to write a proper column. I'm the first to admit that the columns over the past few months have been lacking. Frankly, WLG deserves better. The problem is that I just don't have that kind of time right now to put out the column that WLG SHOULD be.

That means for the next few weeks WLG will be taking a hiatus. How long exactly? I don't know. As I noted, I will be using my free time this week preparing my house for the big move this weekend. After that I have several personal and familial obligations, as well as some professional ones. That means at least 4-5 weeks before a new WLG minimum.

I wish that it did not have to be that way, but sometimes that is just how it is.

I WILL be covering the Wizard World Convention in Chicago again this year. I don't know if I will have time for any lengthy articles or not, but at the very least I will be sending in my notes from the Con.

After that? Who knows. I wish I could give a definite time table, but this is the first time I've been a homeowner and all of this is new to me. I don't know what to measure it against, so like I said, for now WLG is on hiatus, though I hope that I have time to bring it back soon.

I hope.

Talk to you all later, and as always, feel free to drop me an email (link is above).

THANKS!

-Diaz
