Default Anyone watch Flash Forward last night?

Not sure who else took a gander at it, but I am dying to talk about this show with someone.

I can't say I went into the viewing with any expectations, hell I forgot it was even on until my wife brought it up while I was making dinner. The few reviews I've read this morning were of the variety of, "My expectations were so high for the premiere that I couldn't help but feel disappointed."

That said, if you like Lost (even though I could find no connection between the creators of the two shows) you will like this show a lot. My wife and I were both talking about the show for the rest of the evening, and then got up talking about it this morning.

The show was co-created and directed by David Goyer, whom we are all familiar with, and Mark Guggenheim is a writer/producer as well. The other writers/producers have some 24/CSI type experience, regardless of what you think of the shows there is a certain pedigree. ABC seems to be really pumping this show as the next Lost as well in advertising.

What I was interested to learn was that the series is based upon a 1999 sci-fi novel with the same title written by Robert J. Sawyer. The main difference is that in the novel, people get a flash of their lives 21 years in the future, while on the TV show it was only 6 months. Gotta love the immediacy of television LOL.

Anyway, I'm watching the show again on Hulu so I thought I would get something started on discussion. Let me know your thoughts.

I'm interested to watch this, but it doesn't air in the UK until Monday - so I'll be able to discuss it with you then!

As I understand it, the flash-forward date (6 months in the future) has been chosen to be the same day as the planned airdate of the 1st season finale - which is a nice touch.

Isn't Brannon Braga involved too? He's the time-travel wiz from the Star Trek shows that loves a good brain teaser. And it's borrowed some of the cast from Lost, such as Penelope and Charlie!

Thursday nights are impossible for me this season: Fringe, CSI, ThirtyRock, Bones, Project Runway, Models of the Runway ... no time to add anything new, evil evil network programmers.

Looks like FlashForward repeats tonight at 8:00, maybe I'll try and catch it then.

I meant to record it, but I've been so busy that I haven't set up any of the new shows to record. Hopefully it's available for viewing online on the network's site--and hopefully I'll have time to watch it.

Yeah, for me Thursdays are already filled with Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and CSI--though the first and last of those three are on the chopping block for me.

I'll try to remember that. I'm taking Kara to the county fair tonight, but I'll try to set it up to record.

Yes it does repeat tonight, but you can watch it right now on hulu.com.

I was not familiar with Brannon Braga, according to IMDB he's been a producer on 24 for a bit, and I did see some Star Trek lines in there as well. He and Goyer are the two creators of the show.

I highly recommend this show, it's a pretty start studded cast...and one of the recurring characters on the show is a kangaroo hopping around. Don't ask me to explain that part, we'll find out though.

That show is fricking unbelievable! It's like Tyra's Next Top Model madness but with actual professionals who now how to PRETEND to be nice to each other.

Vanessa is my favorite:

But I also really dig Matar and Kojii:

Thursdays are just impossible.

We've got The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Parks & Recreation, The Office, Community, Fringe, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Mentalist.

That's 4.5 hours of TV just on Thursday nights. 5.5 with Flash Forward.

I want to see Flash Forward, though, so Hulu's probably going to be the way to go. I'm trying to figure out how to stream it to the TV as we speak.
