I was happy to see this review go up, and to see that Mr. Brady touched on so many aspects involved in having a new Dave Sim book featuring a female main character.
Sounds like it still may not be for me (besides the discussions of realistic style in comics), if it amounts to mostly a parody against the fashion industry. Robert Altman took on that topic in Ready to Wear already. He was a genius, and he still fell flat on his face. When it comes to the fashion (and yes even after watching America's Next Top Model for nine cycles), I'm inclined to take the Devil Wears Prada approach -- though they may not be nice people, designers and photographers and editors and even lowly models are artists, striving to create something. That their work is superficial and surface-oriented, and so changeable and unsteady, is not a detriment.
