Default What's up with Power Girl... and the "toe"?

One of ATR's stalwart readers wrote in to point the following out...

Okay, look at this cover of Superman #663:

(more data here: http://www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=7295)

Now, doesn't it look like Power Girl has, um, "camel toe"?
I'm sure that Carlos Pacheco and/or Jesus Merino meant for Power Girl to turn out this way (right??). My only question is: Will DC catch this and deem it worth changing? Or will people everywhere get to giggle at Power Girl (and Superman... who seems to be explaining or doing... something).

And just what is it with Power Girl, anyway? I think certain depictions of her have caused me to blush more than any other Big Two comic character.

Accidental (?) camel toe aside, it's some great art... least I think so.

Ryan has decided not to reply to this topic because he cannot do it without starting to giggle.

Default Speaking of Power Girl...

Fighting the "philosophical burqa" or "baby-faced porn-bodied wank toys"?:

You be the judge...

(for more info, and the comments where I got those wonderful quotes from, see this link: http://pwbeat.publishersweekly.com/b...super-heroines)

(and I just looked at the rest of the girls--er, toys... ooo la la... Man, toys sure have gotten interesting since I was a kid)

I, for one, applaud this level of verisimilitude.

Appropriately, Superman and Batman wear shorts over their tights to hide their manly bulges--but what's going on with characters like Green Lantern and The Flash?

I love Gil Kane's work. However, in this picture it looks like Guy Gardner has camel toe:

And look at poor Barry Allen here:

A little known fact that doesn't get much mention in DC's books is that they had their own "Civil War" decades ago. However, instead of registering with the government, male superheroes were told they had to either wear shorts over their tights or be castrated and have their organs amputated.

We know that Superman, Batman, and a few others opted for the shorts. However, DC has yet to release the story that reveals why the Green Lanterns, the Flashes, and several others chose the dismemberment option.

At least Barry Allen was able to shoot out his "strange bolt" from his lightning logo despite opting for castration and amputation.

And GL could always create a massive replacement whenever he had the "will". Of course he had to keep it recharged.

The Superman #663 cover doesn't look like Pacheco's work at all. It's not a bad cover, it's just . . . a little lacking, but then that's the way I've felt about his art since after Avengers Forever.
