So, two episodes in and still dragging it's arse toward a principal plot thread, anybody watching this?
I liked the bit at the end of the second episode where Mr. ex-cop guy is pulling more and more pushpins out of the drawer to stick into cities on a big map of the U.S., starting with the ones we think we know have been nuked (Denver's the only fer shure, with Atlanta and NYC being probably but who knowses?). I'm not certain about this, but kind of doubt that Jericho is the job that's finally going to push Skeet Ulrich into mega-stardom. Looking for gaping plot holes and taking liberties with logic are a full time job in general, but Jericho's already on it's way to making my head spin around. On the one hand everyone is going to die who doesn't make it into an airtight shelter of some kind, but our hero Skeets and company will undoubtedly appear unscathed after some time in the storm cellar (ditto annoying boy and annoying girl acting out scenes from Duct Tape Forever in her house; actually they'll probably see clumps of hair falling out soon, what with being annoying and all). Better than The Day After, but so was Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. A crime against nature compared to Threads but, then, what isn't? Now if I could only remember the name of that British graphic novel c.1984-ish about the husband and wife who weather WWIII under a tarp in their makeshift shelter. It was produced as an animated film, too. Dang, I used to own the book... it was all very ironic. |

By all means give an episode a shot, maybe you'll get drawn in. The gameshow/realityshow/doctorcoplawyershow success prove that large audiences are available for anything. Except Firefly |
