I don't think it makes you sad. I love comics in general and even the ones that everyone else seems to hate. For example I didn't mind the Blue Superman, I thought it was sort of cool.

And in the case of a character like Superman (or Batman, Captain America or Spider-Man), the core idea is so good it can survive even terrible treatment.

One of the most rubbish Superman comics I ever read was Superman/Aliens but I absolutely loved it. So James if your sad then I am with you :icon_craz

You're not sad-you're a fool! Your love for the character has blinded you to the terrible comics he's been in! I think Clint Eastwood's the greatest actor alive. But I'm not going to see "Any which way but loose/you can", or "Paint your Wagon", because they suck!

And yet, I do collect Daredevil comics. I try to buy them for a dollar each. I've got the full run with the "dark" costume from the 90's. So, yeah, I know what it's like to like everything with a character even if it's not very good.

We're both sad.

is this going to turn to turn into a thread that ultimately comes up with the conclusion that we are all sad?

Just pondering the concept...

Nonsense. Any Which Way But Loose is a superb film. ...You Can is utter bobbins, however, as is Paint Your Wagon. :icon_craz

Yes. Yes it is.
