Continuing our research on landmark comic books and their appeal, Serious Issues takes a look at the beginning of a new era with the first issue of the revamped Justice League. At the time, using relatively unpopular characters and injecting humour into DC Comic’s flagship book seemed like a gamble—but it certainly paid off. This era of Justice League is fondly remembered by collectors, but can this first “serious issue” appeal to a wider audience?
