The people/fans/readers/collectors who love the Superman family of comics under the 30-year editorship of Mort Weisinger (1940-70), or remember them fondly, are on the opposite end of the spectrum from the professional writers and artists who worked for him, or knew him, who by and large literally turn red at the mere mention of his name! So what's a comic book historian to do? 

Being in the former camp as a kid, but learning of the latter as an adult, I put it in Weisinger's own words (from the very few previously published articles and interviews he did over the years--but also including new comments from Mort's son, Dr. Hank Weisinger) and “illustrated” with images by his artistic muse, Curt Swan (main Superman artist 1958-‘86), and let you, the reader, decide for yourself. Hence my title, "Requiem for Weisinger."
