The answer to the question fans of Tolkien have been asking about this movie for months is “no, not really.” But we’ll get to that in a moment.
I don’t feel cheated by having to wait til January. Instead, it’s like a narrative Christmas…nothing but happy anticipation and the certainty that Santa (Horowitz and Kitsis) will once again deliver.
Every fairy tale needs a really good villain.
Unfortunately, when it comes how well the episode works in and of itself, “Child of the Moon” does not deliver as we might hope.
