It’s A Holiday Week?
It’s a holiday week?
Whoa, nobody said it was a holiday week. Well, this changes things a bit. With most folks here in the US it is either a shortened week or a perfect time for vacation. So rather than the planned topic, lets take a brief detour.
The 4th of July was when America declared its independence as a free country. The celebration always seems like a celebration of accomplishment. But, when you think about it, the 4th is really just a beginning. Nobody did anything yet. There was some talk, but the work was only beginning. It is not some much of a “take stock” type event, but more of charting a new course.
So for those of you here in the US of A we’ll be brief so you can watch the fireworks and enjoy the BBQ’s. For those not in the states make up any excuse to have a part and celebrate something with your friends and family. Just take a moment to look to the future and make a plan to achieve something to make the place a little bit better for you or something you care about.
Like comics.
The next few weeks we have a few things that really need to be talked about. Some things are good and some things have the potential to be pretty bad and hurt all of us comic people. It should be an interesting few weeks.
And finally we will have some more additions to the recommended reading section!
If you can find a moment to have some quiet time, go read a comic. Even if it is a guilty pleasure like a kids comic, go for it. There is a list below of some good ones that will be at your local comic shop this week.
