A Year Already?
A year already?
Yup, we have been at this a year and what a year it has been. Kids Comic Con, a few crazy rants, a couple of interviews, a few guest columns and quote a list of recommended reading. Seems like a perfect time to get a battle plan ready for next years worth of columns.
So a year has gone by at that was the personal goal. It was an enormous undertaking. To have Archie Comics allow one of its editors to go online week after week to not only talk about Archie comics but also competitor’s comics seemed like an impossible idea. The higher ups at Archie were all for it. So, it seems like a good time to take stock and regroup.
Over the year it has been an incredible opportunity to learn more about comics and meet some wonderful new friends of All Ages comics. Without this column our paths might never have crossed. Just this past week an amazing conversation sort of just happened. We basically kicked around some ideas on how to make some great comics, cure most of the woes associated with All Ages comics and came up with a great idea for a TV show on comic books. Who know what next week will bring?
A few new friends of All Ages comics have made some amazing additions to their website. KidsLoveComics.com
is a great site for KLC. Having an opportunity to talk with the creators of WJHC On the Air, a comic featuring the exploits of a high school kids running their school radio station (the author Jane Smith Fischer is an amazing person) Buzzboy by John Gallagher (who promised to write a guest column-hint hint) creates some great action adventure with the perfect amount of joking around, Roboy Red artist Raina Telgemeier’s Baby Sitters Club is there as is Kyle Bakers The Bakers, even last weeks 10 questions with star Mike Bullocks’ Lions, Tigers and Bears is there.
The KLC crew just added a new Blog filled with updates and plenty of links. It was a great surprise to see this column up on the link section. Thanks guys and keep up the good work!
Diamond Distributors, the distributor for comic shops has been doing even more for All Ages comics recently.
With lists on top 25 Graphic Novels from Elementary, Middle and High Schools plus helpful hints for teachers and librarians.

Certainly the biggest event was Alex Simmons Kids Comic Con, the first annual. It was wonderful for Archie to be next to fellow kids comics not lets say a product based on potty time like the NY Comic Con. Alex and his crew put together a wonderful show that seemed to leave everyone charged up and ready to take on the world.
Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Next Tuesday, an age old debate and why the heck is it such a big deal in comics?
See ya’ next Tuesday!
